(Nixa) – A Nixa high school senior soccer player, with West Plains connections, recently became the school’s all time leading scorer.

Robert Neathery, who was born in West Plains and began playing soccer here at the age of 4, scored 3 goals and one assist for the Eagles in a Tuesday match against Ozark to give him 52 goals for his career and a total of 94 points.

This past summer, Neathery attended a soccer academy in England which is part of the Missouri Olympic Development team. He plans on attending the same program next summer which could possibly help gain eventual entry into the professional game.

Robert is the son of Bret Neathery of Springfield, Beth Neathery of Nixa, the grandson of Sharon Neathery and nephew of Tom and Shawn Marhefka of West Plains and Bob and Amy Pollard of Willow Springs.
