Virginia helped John operate and manage a dairy farm for 28 years. She was very active with various farm organizations; the Dairy Wives, the Dairy Breed Organizations, and was a member of the Texas County Fair Board for several years. Virginia was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was one of the individuals called by the National Headquarters in disaster situations. She was deployed to many areas to help provide places of shelter, sources of food or being the source of encouragement to those in need. She saw it as one of her ministries, to reach out and help those in times of trouble. In recent years she worked at McDonalds besides running a home based business.
She enjoyed being outside and loved nature and animals of all sorts, especially horses. She had a very outgoing personality, having friends in all 50 states.
