Marvell Dean Daniel, age 76, son of Marvin and Mildred (McNew) Daniel was born December 30, 1937 in Houston, MO. He passed away February 22, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO.

Dean grew up on a farm just outside of Houston, and attended school in Houston graduating from Houston High School in 1955.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He married Elaine Roderick in 1955 and to that union five children were born, they divorced in 1968. He married Carolyn Sillyman in 2010. Dean is survived by his wife Carolyn, his children; Robert Daniel and wife Veronica of Clemons, IA, Ronald Daniel of Marshalltown, IA, Randall Daniel and wife Kim of Beaman, IA, Patricia Bailey of Nashville, TN and Donald Daniel of Beaman, IA, nine grandchildren; Jennifer, Stephanie, Amy, Bryan, Cortney, Rebecka, Jason, Michael and James, and eight great-grandchildren, two brothers; Roy Daniel and wife Ella of Houston, MO and Jerry Daniel of Columbia, MO, two sisters; Marilyn Back and husband Dean of Cedar Park, TX and Delores Nevarez and husband Henry of Oceanside, CA, and Carolyn’s children; Steven Sillyman and wife Coleen of Grand Junction, IA, Darrell Sillyman and wife Deana and Brian Sillyman and wife Cindy all of Houston, MO, and numerous other family members who he loved very much.

Dean worked for Fisher Controls running a turret lathe for more than twenty years. He retired in 1996.

Dean’s first passion was farming, but he also loved to travel. He and Carolyn would jump in the car or the motorcycle and head to see the beautiful country. They visited many states. You could also find him and Carolyn at the Barn, dancing the night away. He was always looking to have a good time! Dean was quite the jokester, he had a gift to make people laugh and make them feel loved. He also was a wonderful cook and always enjoyed to have neighbors and friends come join them for a meal and fellowship.

He was a family man, he was happiest when he was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren or friends. There will be a huge void in all the lives that he touched and the many that loved him.

The family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, in his honor, in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be sent to www.evansfh.com.

Visitation will be held Wednesday February 26, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home with services beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Wesley Wallace officiating. Pallbearers are; Randall Daniel, Robert Daniel, Donald Daniel, Jason Baily, Bryan Daniel and Michael Daniel. Burial will be Thursday February 27, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in Liscomb Cemetery, Liscomb, IA under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
