She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and two daughters.
She is survived by a daughter Kay Northup of Chesterfield, MO, a son Vern Hines, Jr. of Godfrey, IL, and a daughter Pat Halverson of Mtn. Home, Arkansas; five grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Best of Mtn. View, MO and Wilma Burger of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one brother Kenneth Lay of Houston, MO.
Jean graduated from Summersville High School in 1942.
She married Vern Hines on September 18, 1945 and they had five children. Jean worked as a machinist in finishing operations until the age of 86. In 2008 Jean was chosen as the Outstanding Older Worker of Missouri. She represented the state of Missouri at the Experience Works Prime Time Awards in Washington D.C. in September of 2008.
She enjoyed having her tomatoes, cucumbers and assorted flowers in her backyard. Jean was an outstanding St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball fan.
She will be greatly missed.

No visitation will be held. Services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday February 22, 2014 at Evans Funeral Home with Bro. Don Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction Evans Funeral Home.
