He was born January 15, 1935, in Goldonna, Louisiana to the late William Isaac and Mae (Fincher) Moak. Jimmy served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. After his military service he worked as a welder, singer and barber. He played the guitar and sang locally with the Monkey Run Boys. Jimmy loved fishing, camping and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Shirley “Jo” Moak; his parents; five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sean Brady of Mountain Home and Jimmy, Jr. and Jennifer Moak of Monroe, Louisiana; four daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda Joyner of Calhoun, Louisiana, Mandy and Randy Bennett of Mountain Home, Jodi and James Rogers of Gepp and Tammy Peoples of West Monroe, Louisiana; 16 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the Word of Life Church with the Reverend James Ramsey and Pastor Greg Ford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
