William Edward Ledgerwood, 96, passed from this life on December 19, 2013 at Birch Tree Place, Birch Tree, Missouri. He will join Evelyn Justine (DePriest), his wife of 70 years; his parents; daughter, Dorothy; son, Cecil; and daughter-in-law, Donna. He leaves behind sons, Chester and wife, Mary Jane, of Birch Tree and Doyle “Scott” of Chehalis, WA; daughter-in-law, Vivian of Birch Tree; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday December 22, 2013, 6 – 8:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary, with Funeral Services Monday December 23, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Birch Tree, MO

Edward was born on September 12, 1917 the son of Lewis Ural and Dorothy (Schneider) Ledgerwood. Siblings from this union were Sadie Chilton, Sylvia Smotherman and Leo Ledgerwood. After his mother’s passing, his father was united to Omie Mobley and added brothers, J.D. Mobley, Bob, Virgil, Melvin “Tom”, and Elvin “Tim” and sisters, Juanita Gall and Mary (Frost) Moreland. Siblings preceding him in death were J.D. Mobley, Leo, Sylvia, and Mary.

Edward was a hard worker, working in the timber industry and farming. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed Cardinal baseball and westerns.

Edward was a member of the County Line Pentecostal Church of Birch Tree, Missouri. The last six years of his life were spent at Birch Tree Place. The family would like to thank the staff for their caring and kindness during this time.
