Funeral services for Donald Lester Schaumburg, 69, Pomona, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, West Plains, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Schaumburg died 11:01 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri. He was born August 14, 1942 at Dubuque, Iowa to Fred J. and Alvina Tinkham Schaumburg. On July 11, 1970, he was married at Sherrill, Iowa to Ruth Leslein. Mr. Schaumburg had been a member of the Army National Guard and loved farming and was a stewart of the land. Also, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Schaumburg was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Schaumburg, of the family home; three children, Michelle “Mickey’ Walker, husband, Mark, Crider, Missouri, Jeffery Schaumburg, Wilton Manors, Florida and Scott Schaumburg, Rover, Missouri; three grandchildren, Bailey Dawn Walker, Riley Walker and Ellie Jo Walker; one brother, Fred Schaumburg, wife, Cora, Durango, Iowa; two sisters, Pearl Dubler and Betty Duehr, both of Dubuque, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Ruth Kramer, Durango, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one sister, Irene Savers and his father-in-law, Lawrence Leslein, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family to be dispensed to various charities.
