He was born December 19, 1955, in Aurora, Illinois to the late Alvin Leroy Popp, Sr. and Joyce Elaine Theurer Popp. He met Shawna at the roller rink. They were married on December 9th and had a strong love and partnership. Together they worked hard and raised two strong, sensible children, whom he was proud. John worked as a tool and die maker. His hobbies included drag racing with Scott, fishing Bull Shoals Lake, building his 1970 Camaro, which he enjoyed cruising, racing and improving. He also loved being a father and grandpa and spending time teaching his boys how to tinker and tune. Johnny had the kindest heart and was always the first to offer help. He loved hanging out with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Shawna Popp of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Jasmine Popp of Mountain Home; a daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Ismael Perez of Clay City, Illinois; two brothers, Alvin and Dustin Popp, both of Illinois; a sister Jimmie Jo Aranda of Illinois and five grandchildren, Montana, Dyllon and Lani Popp, all of Mountain Home and Jaylen and Josephine Perez, both of Clay City, Illinois.
