Bruce Edward Girdley, 57, of Birch Tree, Missouri departed this life on September 6, 2013 at his home. He was born on July 5, 1956 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of Kenneth Edward and Mamie Ruth (Sheets) Girdley.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday September 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Yarber Mortuary.

Bruce was united in marriage to Sharon Marie Moore on July 15, 1992 in Salem, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one brother, Mike.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the home; two daughters, Allena Halloway and husband, Shane, West Plains, MO and Heather Richison and husband, Marlin, Willow Springs, MO; three sons, Jacob Girdley, West Plains, David Boyd and wife, Shelby, Liberty, MO, and Willie Boyd and wife, Christine, West Plains; three brothers, Scott Girdley, Lee Summitt, MO, Kevin Girdley and wife, Jennifer, West Plains, and Larry Girdley and wife, Tracy, Gamaliel, AR; ten grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska where he greatly enjoyed spending time on the rivers. He loved to hunt and to fish. He also enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Bruce had been employed by Joy Dog Food, MFA, and Smith Flooring. He attended Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Teresita.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

    Wow, sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing… We had lots of travels together, to the lower 48, fishing, shooting and concerts. We grew up about a hundred yards apart. We would snowmobile together when it was so cold, even the moose would be hiding.
