William Henry “Bill” Pierce, 77, of Birch Tree, Missouri departed this life on June 15, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he had moved so that his daughter could assist him. He was born December 9, 1935 in Thomasville, Missouri, the son of Howard Otto Pierce and Melinda (Ledbetter) Pierce.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 5 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church in Birch Tree.

He was united in marriage to Patsy Earlene Brake on December 9, 1961 in Birch Tree, Missouri. To this union, four children were born: Charisse, Billy, Alan, and Chris.

Bill was a proud veteran of the US Army, and served for 18 years, of which 11 years were active duty. He served in the Korean War, and a short time in Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Melinda; his wife, Earlene; his son, Billy; and two sisters, Virginia Chilton and Sarah Reeves.

Survivors include three children, Charisse Perales and her husband, Albert, of Henderson, NV; Alan Pierce and his wife, Shanda, Wichita, KS; Chris Pierce and his wife Sarina, of Mountain View, MO; six sisters, Erma Ramsey, Arizona, Opal Routh, Missouri; Margie Bradshaw, Missouri, Betty Rickus, Tennessee, Wanda Pierce, Kansas, Janice Hendricks, Tennessee. He had seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Bill was a loving and devoted father. After his wife passed, he moved to Mountain View, where he loved visiting with close family and friends. It was his great pleasure to make someone smile every day. He was an avid baseball fan, and he had many fond memories from his time in the military.
