He was married to Susie Tune on February 20, 1965, sharing 48 years together. To this union four children were born, Ed, Brenda, Dean and Lynn.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gladys Bales; father and mother-in-law, Cecil and Clytie Tune; two brothers, Jimmy and Charles Bales; and one sister, Wilma Gross.
He is survived by his wife, Susie, of the home; two sons, Edward Lee Bales and wife, Christy, and their four children, Bryce, Devon, Shelton of Mountain View and Chad Bales of Oklahoma, Dean Bales and wife, Nicole, and their three sons, Blake, Chase and Hayden of Mountain View; two daughters, Brenda Kleopfer and husband, John, of Peace Valley, MO and their two children, Justin Bales and wife, Jamie, and two boys, TyLynn and Trent, of West Plains, MO and Fantasia Kleopfer and her daughter, Idahlia, of West Plains and daughter, Lynn Roberts and husband, Stace, and their three sons, Austin and Levi of Mountain View, and Stace and wife, Annie, and daughter, Zoe, (and also, one on the way) of Virginia; three brothers, Tracy Bales and wife, Sharon, of Mountain View, Leroy Bales of Illinois, and Gary Bales and wife, Sharon, of Mountain View; two sisters, Shirley Beard of Birch Tree, MO and Joyce Snell and husband, Dale, of Texas.
Butch served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working as an auto body mechanic for many years. He also loved spending time with his grandkids.
