Melvin Vines, 58, a resident of Gassville passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 6, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ralph and Arlis Vines. He married Nancy Hodges on November 12, 1975, in Gassville. Melvin worked in the wiring shop at Ranger Boats for 40 years. He loved music, working on cars and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Melvin was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Glenn Vines.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Nancy Vines of Gassville; four sons, Mac Davis of Gassville, Robert Vines of Gassville, Kevin Vines of Flippin and Scotty Vines; a daughter, Tina Vines of Gassville; his father and stepmother, Ralph and Janiece Vines of Ralph; a sister and brother-in-law, Beneva and Dennis Barron of Yellville; a sister-in-law, Peggy Vines of Yellville; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Gassville Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m., Thursday with the Reverend Gary Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Gassville Cemetery under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Shane Chaney, David Huddleston, Dwaine Hodges, Melvin Boyer, Vince Wince and Robby Tolliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Chagnon, Eric Blazedale, Mitchell Willis, Ronald Chaney, Junior Chaney, Brooks Due and Jeremy Hodges.
