Pat (Young) Henderson, age 60, daughter of George and Melba (Shyrock) Young was born on December 2, 1952 in Bendavis, MO. She went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2012 at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, MO.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents (George and Melba), stepmother, Eva Young, stepfather, Roy Stevenson, and her two brothers, Leroy and Bruce.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Marty and Heather Henderson of Austin Texas; her daughter, Mickie Drake of St. Louis, MO; one sister Sue Smith of Houston, MO; one brother and sister in law, Ken and JoAnn Young of Makanda, IL; and several nieces and nephews, Kim, Robbie, Jason, Katalin, Amy, Erika, and Nola.

Pat grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Houston High School in 1971. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drury University in 2005- Magna Cum Laude and received Registered Health Information Technologist certification with an additional associate’s degree in health information technology from Ozark Technical Community College in 2010.

Pat worked in the medical records department at Texas County Memorial Hospital (TCMH) since 1994, and she worked her way up from coding patient charts to overseeing all of the health information that comes and goes in the department as the director of medical records.

Pat received Christ as her Savior as a young child. She was a member of Clara Baptist Church of Houston, Mo and enjoyed attending weekly service.

Pat loved lying out in the sun and was well known for her glowing smile. She also enjoyed working out at the fitness center, and shopping with her girlfriends.

Pat loved her children, Marty and Mickie. She enjoyed traveling with them, spending time at the beach, and always took any opportunity to tell how proud she was of them.

Pat was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an amazing woman with such an amazing spirit and huge heart, always looking for ways to help her family and friends. She was always honest, always faithful, and an inspiration to all. She was a remarkable woman and she was a bright spot in all the lives she touched. She will be missed, but we know that she is enjoying the beauty of Heaven and is rejoicing in the presence of the One she has so long desired to meet.

Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday December 21, 2012 at Evans Funeral Home with Paul Murray officiating. Pallbearers were; Jason Booker, Rob Smith, Les Vannote, Gary Davenport, Harry Willis, Jay Glover, Jeff Ijames. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Randall. Burial was in Rock Spring Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
