Delores Esther Ratterree Turner was born Sep 27, 1939 in Norwood to John and Florence (Owens) Ratterree. She passed into heavenly peace Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Mercy hospital in Springfield with her family around her. Delores married Shirley Turner on August 31, 1957. This union of 55 years was blessed with five children. Her life’s call was caring for her family and home as well as helping her husband in ministry.

Delores was a 1957 graduate of Mountain Grove High School. She took courses in elementary education from Southwest Missouri State University and Drury College while serving as a teacher’s assistant at Mountain Grove Elementary School. Delores also cared for many children in her home. She enjoyed being home tending to her flowers, reading and sewing. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have enjoyed beautiful quilts, dresses, wedding gowns, hand embroidered pillowcases, costumes and stuffed animals stitched with love. If Delores knew they were coming, she would have their favorite meal or desert ready for their visit. Whether a bed time story or as a Sunday School teacher, she could make a story come to life. From childhood she loved music and as an adult she has blessed many with her beautiful alto voice.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents Rev. John and Florence Ratterree; her daughter Debbie Turner Worley; two sons-in-law, Clinton Worley and Ted Wagner; two grandchildren, Melissa Worley and Travis Wagner; and her brother David Ratterree.

She leaves behind her husband Rev. Shirley Turner of Mountain Grove; one son Dale Keith Turner (Chris) of West Plains; three daughters, Ledena Wagner Romano (Joe) of Summersville; Dr. Linda Howell (John) of Paducah, KY, and Beth Zeitler (Dave) of Fenton; nine grandchildren: Jennifer Worley Gossard, Stephanie Worley Cornman, Stacie Turner Compton, Ashley Turner Rains, Andria Wagner Wall, Alisha Wagner Favazza, Mackenzie Wagner, Donald Worley and J.C, Worley; 11 great-grand children; 3 brothers Rev. Don (Maxine) Ratterree, Rev. John (Brexine) Ratterree and Rev. Jerry (Irene) Ratterree all of Mountain Grove; two sisters Edna Oliphant and Naomi (Don) Dugger, both of Hartville; and numerous other dear family and friends.

Delores wrote a letter to her children telling them they were her greatest earthly treasures.
