Maggie L. Hammond, 90, a resident of Mountain Home formerly of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at her residence.
She was born July 8, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Enoch and Goldie Hanson Swanson. Maggie married Lee G. Hammond on September 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as an assistant pharmacist for Musket and Hendrickson Pharmacy in Chicago for several years. In 2009 Mr. and Mrs. Hammond relocated to Mountain Home from Des Plaines, Illinois. Maggie loved gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Lee G. Hammond and three brothers.
Survivors include a son, Denis Hammond of Mountain Home; a brother, Donald Swanson of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Justin L. Hammond of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Ginger L. Hammond of Greeneville, Tennessee and two great grandchildren, Nicole and Nathanael Hammond, both of Genoa City, Wisconsin.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
Burial will be private in Jewish Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
