William “Bill” Hendrix, 73, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Friday, September 28, 2012, in Mountain Home.

He was born July 14, 1939, in Lilbourne, Missouri and was the son of Russell and Rose Barks Hendrix. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for American Airlines where he retired after 33 years of service. He relocated to Mountain Home from St. Louis, Missouri in 2003. Bill married Fern Louise Register on May 6, 2010, in Mountain Home. He worked for James Payne driving for Mountain Home Taxi and shuttling railroad employees. Bill loved softball, basketball and fishing. He caught his trophy fish, a 51 pound catfish in January 2012. He also played pool at the Van Matre Senior Center in Mountain Home. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Fern Hendrix of Mountain Home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Russell Elias of Suffolk, Virginia, Debbie Faulkner of Suffolk, Virginia and Carla and Mark Witt of Madison, Alabama; five grandchildren, Michael Elias (Erica), Shaila Faulkner, Hannah Witt, Kamryn Witt and Zachary Witt; one great grandson, Ronin Elias; an aunt, Maggie Howell of Dexter, Missouri and numerous cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Strobel officiating. Interment will be private under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
