Funeral services for Nola Velma White, 94, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. White died at 2:48 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at her home.

She was born March 22, 1918, at Roosevelt in Douglas County, Missouri, to John Thomas Thornton and Ada Francis Pittman Thornton. On July 5, 1935, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Harley White, who preceded her in death on November 24, 1995. Before her retirement, Mrs. White was employed with Conaway-Winter in Willow Springs, Missouri, for eighteen years. She loved spending time with her family and friends; quilting and gardening were her passion. Mrs. White was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by three children, Kenith White, wife, Irene, West Plains, Missouri, JoAnn Wiese, husband, Arnold, Willow Springs, Missouri and Dale White, wife, Vurna, West Plains, Missouri; son-in-law, Donald Sneed; fourteen grandchildren, Sheryl Ford, Merline Luton, husband, Jerry, David Wiese, wife, Krista, Branton White, Kenitha Aikman, husband, Jim, Richard White, wife, Anna, Dane Wiese, wife, Emma, Rachell Tomlinson, husband, Ronald, Jennifer Henson, husband, Mike, Heather White, Christopher Woolbright, wife, Samantha, Charles Sneed, Josh Sneed and Chris Sneed; nineteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Opal Clinton, Willow Springs, Missouri, Christine Altermatt, Mountain View, Missouri and Lawanda Towell, Manis, Missouri; special friends and neighbors, Linda and Martin Beljean; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, daughter, Elaine Francis White-Sneed, grandson Michael White, grandson-in-law, Robert Ford, five brothers, Loyd, Marvin, Gene, Orvil and Ray Thornton and two sisters, Orpha Clinton and Treva Thornton, precede her in death.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
