Edward Lee McBride, age 80, son of Clarence E. and Anna Mae (Shoemaker) McBride was born March 7, 1932 in Houston, MO. He passed away August 20, 2012 in Kansas City, Kansas.

He married Janice Lowry June 1, 1954 Somers, Iowa, they had one son.

He married Maxine December 14, 1968 and immediately a family of 5 more children were added to his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty Jean, who was killed as a young child in 1933, and his wife Maxine.

He is survived by his son Daniel McBride and wife Jennifer of Arizona, daughters, Vicky Blancarte, Kathy Spohrer and husband Richard, Kay Colvin and husband Danny, Sue Colston and son Harold Jones all of Kansas; one half brother, Keith McBride 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends made throughout the years.

Ed worked at Markel-Buick for 18 years and O’Conner Cadillac for 14 years. He was a good mechanic and after moving to Houston in 1994 he often worked on many cars in the area. Besides loving to work on cars after his retirement, Ed loved fishing for crappie and growing roses.

He was converted and baptized at Dog’s Bluff at an early age. After moving back to Houston he had been a member of the First Christian Church of Houston, joining in 1995.

He was a very unique individual and was always ready to help anyone with their vehicles, either by looking at them or giving advice.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Friday August 24, 6-8 PM in the Evans Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday August 25, at 11 AM in the Evans Funeral Home. Matthew Anderson will officiate with burial in the White Rock
