Lee G. Hammond, 92, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in Mountain Home.

He was born February 13, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lee V. and Georgette Durant Hammond. Mr. Hammond was a Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. After his military service he attended the University of Illinois and then was an electrician for Meyercord in Carol Stream, Illinois. He married Maggie L. Swanson on September 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. In 2009 Mr. and Mrs. Hammond relocated to Mountain Home from Des Plaines, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Maggie Hammond of Mountain Home; a son, Denis Hammond of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Justin L. Hammond of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Ginger L. Hammond of Greeneville, Tennessee and two great grandchildren, Nicole and Nathan Hammond, both of Genoa City, Wisconsin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.
