Funeral services for Frank Douglas Young, 51, West Plains, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at the New Liberty Church near West Plains, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Young died 2:48 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012 near Collins, Missouri. He was born August 12, 1960 at El Dorado, Arkansas to Glendel Dean (G.D.) and Barbara June Whitten Young. On July 3, 1987, Mr. Young was married at Salem, Arkansas to Rochelle Smith. He was a commercial well driller and equipment operator. Mr. Young was an environmentalist, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time, especially outdoors, with his children and grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Young, of the family home; five children, Matthew Roy Young, wife, Yellonda, West Plains, Jessica Dawn Mann, husband, Dwight, Blue Eye, Missouri, Tyler Lee Taylor, Daniel Ray Young and Caleb Douglas Young, all of West Plains; two grandchildren, Andrew Paul Young-Davis and Emmalee Claire Young and one grandchild on the way; his mother, Barbara Young, West Plains; one brother, Glenn Young, West Plains; two sisters, Grace Pruett, Eldon, Missouri and Ramona Wright, West Plains; father-in-law, Donald Smith, wife, Mary, Thayer, Missouri; mother-in-law, Claudia Smith, husband, Kelley, Shreveport, Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His father, G.D. Young and one grandson, Matthew Lane Young, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at the New Liberty Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association or the New Liberty Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
