December 25, 1957 in Pulaski County, Missouri. He passed away April 22, 2013 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife Virginia of Perryville, MO; his son Shane York of Roby, MO; stepsons, James Hood and David Hood of Perryville, MO, Brad Johnson of Fredericktown, MO and Glenn Johnson of Hillsboro, MO; one daughter Tara Bressie of Roby, MO; 6 grandchildren: Jonathan Bressie, Austin Bressie, Miah Bressie, Destiny York, Blake York, and Shaynna York; 9 step grandchildren: Hannah Hood, Lydia Hood, Rachel Hood, Adrian Hood and Logan Hood, Landen Johnson, Braden Johnson, Layla Johnson and Rebecca Johnson; his mother Marie York of Plato, MO, two brothers, Donald York of Newburg, MO and Ronald York of Plato, MO, one sister Janet Vestal of Licking, MO; numerous other family members and many friends made throughout the years.
Mike was a great lover of adventure. If you mentioned going somewhere just for fun, he was ready. Hopping on his beloved Harley riding around the country-side with family or friends was high on his list of favorite things. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, anything to do with outdoors. He was often found “tinkering”. From his youth up he would take something apart to see how it worked and then try to put it back together to see if it would still work! This could often have devastating results. Help had to be sought, but because of his perseverance he learned well and could be trusted to get it back together so it really would work and even work better.
Mike had a good sense of humor, was fun-loving, and sometimes maybe even a little onery. Watch out, ‘cause you never knew what he might be up to, but it was always done in fun.
He was a wonderful Son, Father, Husband and Brother and Uncle. He cared deeply for his family, and how he loved to be with his kids and those special grandkids. Nothing was as important as family. He looked forward to times with them and keeping up with their activities.
Mike will be missed by all who knew and cared for him.
