(Eminence) – A man has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child after he reportedly threatened at least one child at a sleepover party in Summersville.

40-year-old Michael Morano was charged Tuesday, November 27 in Shannon County Circuit Court. A probable cause statement taken from Shannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason DeJournett states that he arrived at a home on Route 1 in Summersville around 1:45 AM November 25 after receiving a call about a maleĀ at a party slashing tires with a knife. DeJournett says that he found Morano at the scene lying on the ground without a shirt and covered in blood. A woman identified as his wife told the deputy that he had been drinking, and had become angry and chased a number of the children out of the home.

One of the 8-year-old children’s parents told authorities in a statement that the child told them Morano had been trying to get multiple children into a vehicle, and started chasing the kids down the road after they refused. The child also told the parent that Morano had done something to the phones in the home that prevented the children from calling their parents.

Another witness told the authorities that Morano was chasing children with a some sort of alcoholic container, like a wine or beer bottle, in his hand.

The party contained over 20 children, who all had received rides from the home before the deputy arrived.

Bond for Morano was set at $10,000. The incident is still under investigation.
