(Hartville) – A 53-year-old Hartville man was killed Thursday after the vehicle he was driving overturned and hit a culvert off of Route 38 near his hometown.
John Stokes was killed in the 12:41 PM accident that occurred 8 miles east of Hartville and was pronounced dead at the scene by acting coroner Sheriff Glenn Adler. Stokes was taken to Holman-Howell Funeral Home in Hartville.
A passenger in the vehicle, 68-year-old Cathie Hardy of Hartville, suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
The death marks fatality number 34 for Troop G for this year, compared to 33 at this time in 2011.
