(West Plains) – The three finalists for the open city council seat in West Plains had their interviews with the city council, Mayor Jack Pahlmann and the heads of various city departments on Friday afternoon at West Plains City Hall.
The finalists, David Kirk, Royce Fugate, and Terry Sanders, were all asked the same questions by members of the city council:
- Why do you want to be on the council?;
- What talents or skills could you bring to the position?;
- What are the highest issues or priorities the city needs to address, and how would you address them?;
- Is there a particular issue you want to be involved with?;
- What is your understanding of the role of city rule, city government, and the role of meeting the community needs?
The first interviewee, David Kirk, was a principal in the Bakersfield School District for 24 years and six years in Koshkonong and a year as principal in Conway. Kirk told the council that he believes he would be a good fit for the position due to his personality:

Fugate talked about his education, background in engineering, and his history with the city of West Plains. He says his years of experience with the city would make him a good fit for the position:
