(Ava) – An Ava man was killed early Sunday morning after a one-vehicle accident near his hometown.
The accident happened at 1:10 AM on CR 404, about 5 miles west of Ava. 24-year-old Coleman Miles was killed when the northbound vehicle he was driving ran off-road, struck a culvert and overturned.
Miles was pronounced dead at the scene by Douglas County Coroner Rick Miller. Miles’ death marks fatality number 27 for the year for Troop G of the Highway Patrol, compared to 26 at this time last year.
