(West Plains) – This coming Saturday is the Tractors on the Square event in Downtown West Plains, as well as Antique Tractor Preservation Day.

Three years ago, Michael Hinton decided to start his website, theantiquetractorshow.com, to help tractor enthusiasts find parts and information, and other tractor lovers, in one place. Afterward, he campaigned for, and obtained, an official proclamation from Gov. Jay Nixon marking the first Antique Tractor Preservation Day observation.

Hinton spoke with Ozark Radio News and told us about the history of the event, and what’s in store for this year:

The event will take place from 9 AM to 4 PM Saturday. West Plains officials say that traffic will be closed to thru traffic beginning that morning until the event is over. Barricades will be placed at Dixon Street and Washington Avenue, Jefferson and West Main, Leyda and Aid Avenue, and East Main Street will be blocked off from South Hill to the Square.

More information on the event can be found at www.theantiquetractorshow.com.
