(Ava) – The 54th annual Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association’s Show and Celebration starts on Sunday at the association grounds, and runs through Saturday, September 8.

Donna Watson, the Event and Facilities Manager with the MFTHBA, says that a number of events are scheduled for the week, including a road dedication:

The dedication was the work of Representative Tony Dugger, who sponsored the legislation naming Highway 5 in Douglas and Wright Counties from Ava to Mansfield the Missouri Fox Trotting Highway. Watson says that the naming of the highway has been a goal of the organization’s for quite some time:

She continued, saying that general admission is $5 Sunday through Thursday, and $6 Friday and Saturday, with some special exceptions:
