(Houston) – A Houston resident is dead after a house fire early Monday morning.
The Houston Fire Department responded to 306 Chestnut Street shortly after 2 AM Monday morning when a Houston Police Officer smelled smoke coming from the home.
An ambulance was called to the scene when the victim, 51-year-old Thomas Rose, was found in a bedroom in the north part of the house. Texas County Coroner Thomas Whittaker declared Rose dead at the scene.
A State Fire Marshal said the blaze is not suspicious, but the investigation is still pending.
