(Mountain View, AR) – Four Mountain Home residents were injured in a two vehicle accident early Thursday morning.

The accident occurred around 1 AM Thursday morning when the Ford Explorer that 17-year-old Thomas Looney was driving with 17-year-old passenger Brittaney Vanhorn, and the GMC truck 18-year-old Mathas Badgley was driving with 17-year-old passenger Logan Lawrence, collided in the outside westbound traffic lane of State Highway 14, 10 miles east of Mountain View.

The accident was reportedly caused when Badgley attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone as Looney’s vehicle reached that point. Both vehicles attempted to steer into opposite directions to avoid impact, but they collided. Looney was ejected from the Explorer as was Lawrence from the GMC. All parties were taken to Stone County Medical Center for non-fatal injuries.

Badgley was charged with Improper Passing and Reckless Driving.
