(Jefferson City) – A heat advisory originally issued to end over the weekend will continue through 7 PM Wednesday for the region.
The National Weather Service says that high temperatures for the region will continues until 7 PM Wednesday, ranging from the upper 90s to the lower 100s. Combined with the continued dry conditions across the region, the possibility of wildfires remains high.
Also, the National Weather Service urges people to take precautions if outside for any length of time: drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, take frequent breaks if working outside in the hot temperatures, and wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing. People are also urged to check on their neighbors and the elderly.
