(West Plains) – The Avenue Theatre in West Plains will be hosting a Youth Theatre Workshop from July 23-27. The sessions have been designed as an introduction to theatre for beginners, as well as a way for those with some acting experience to expand on existing skill. Instructors Terry Hampton and Tracy Fenske will be dividing the one week session into different daily time slots for various age groups, and will be focusing on teaching fundamentals of stage and basic acting techniques, with games, activities, and skits appropriate for each of the different age groups.
All session will be held daily, Monday through Friday and will feature three different age group sessions. The 9:30-10:30 AM session will be for students entering grades 1-4, the 11 AM to noon session will be for students entering grades 5-8, and the 2-3 PM session will be for students entering grades 9-12. The total cost per student for the week will be $30. However there will be a special session from 4:00-4:30 p.m. each day for children ages 3 through those who will be entering kindergarten, with the cost for this group set at $15 for the week.
