(West Plains) – The South Central Cattlemen’s Association will hold its next meeting on Thursday, July 19 at 7 PM at Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative in West Plains.

Dr. Beth Walker, professor in Animal Science at Missouri State University, will be the featured speaker. Dr. Walker is an outspoken agricultural activist and will speak on the effects of the animal rights movement on society and the agriculture industry. Dennis Johnson, County Executive Director of Howell County Farm Service Agency, will also give an update on the current drought situation, hay availability, and assistance available to farmers. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of Landmark Bank.

South Central Cattlemen’s Association was organized in 2009 to advance economic, educational, political and social interests of the Missouri Cattle Industry. The association serves serving cattle producers in Howell, Oregon, Ozark, and Shannon counties.
