(Thayer) – The Oregon County Country Music Theater and the Go Green Festival board are seeking volunteers for a joint Advisory Board that will provide ideas for music events, ways to assist local nonprofits, fundraisers, and to assist with the next Go Green festival.

Organizers say that they want people who care about the community and promoting natural foods, food freedom, community spirit, organic gardening, alternative fuel sources, job creation, small business start-ups and all of the joys that come from living in the Ozarks.

Current advisers have a wide-range of passions, from music, event planning, to horses, cattle, hogs, goats, sheep, rabbits, poultry and other farm animals. They also enjoy helping local charitable organizations with fundraisers.

If interested please call 417-264-2435.

Also, the Ozark Self Reliant Living University, a non-profit group that promotes self-reliance, will be holding canning and preservation classes July 14 at the Oregon County Country Music Theater from 1-3 PM, and July 15 at the Next Step Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Plains. The classes are free.
