(Poplar Bluff) – The John J. Pershing Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Poplar Bluff has announced that a patient outreach clinic has been approved for Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Angela Smith, Public Affairs Officer with the John J. Pershing VAMC spoke with Ozark Radio News and told us more about the future clinic:

Smith says that the new facility will help provide high-quality health care to veterans residing in Pocahontas and the surrounding counties in northeastern Arkansas and southeastern Missouri, providing vital health care services to our nation’s veterans in a state-of-the-art facility that is closer to home.
The current plan is to have the clinic open in 2013, however Smith says that the plans for the Pocahontas clinic are in their infancy:

Also, the location of the clinic is not known at this time:

In addition to the Pocahontas Outreach Clinic, the John J. Pershing VAMC manages full-time Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Cape Girardeau, Farmington, Sikeston, Salem, and West Plains, Missouri and Paragould, Arkansas, as well as an outreach clinic in Salem, Missouri.
Officials expect the 3,000 square-foot facility to open sometime in 2013.
