(Willow Springs) – Under legislation passed and enacted in the state of Missouri over the past couple of years, the Missouri Highway Patrol and Water Patrol combined into one agency. Public information and safety officer for Troop G of the Missouri Highway Patrol, Sergeant Marty Elmore, says while troopers patrol the highways, the marine officers watch over the waterways:

Elmore says two of the biggest causes of problems on our highways are also the same problems on the waterways, inattention and intoxication.
