(Sikeston) – The Missouri Department of Transportation’s Southeast District is preparing to hold live auctions to sell four of its former maintenance lots, two of them in the listening area.

Right of Way Manager Sherry Glastetter says that the facilities are no longer needed to build, improve or maintain Missouri’s highway system, and the sale of the properties will help benefit taxpayers, since the funding generated will be dedicated to roadway improvements.

The 5.71 acre Goodhope Maintenance Lot in Douglas County and the 4.15 acre Licking Maintenance Lot in Texas County will be auctioned off, along with the lots in Naylor and Zalma. Live auctions for the Goodhope and Licking facilities will be held on Thursday, July 12, at 11 AM and 3 PM, respectively.

Open houses for the Licking and Naylor locations will be Thursday, June 28. MoDOT personnel will available on-site at each facility during the scheduled dates from 4-6 PM.

In addition, interested parties may view photos, videos and additional details about the properties online.

Bidding will commence at the prescribed time, and no bids will be accepted prior to the live auctions. Bids must be submitted during the live auctions. Phone bids will not be accepted. All sales are subject to final approval by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. The Commission reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids. The properties will be sold in “as is” condition.
