(West Plains) – A teller at the Bank of America in West Plains has been arrested and charged with stealing money from an account at the bank.
30-year-old Jacob Squires of West Plains was arrested last Thursday and released after posting a bond of $4500.
Police documents state that bank manager Andrea Crews-Martin told authorities that Squires had stolen $13,260 from a bank account of a doctor residing in New York. After an internal investigation, Squires allegedly admitted to taking the money from the account, which he claimed had been inactive for some time. Squires cited financial problems for the theft.
He is scheduled to appear in court June 25.
