(Houston) – A Mountain Grove man was sentenced to life in prison last week in connection with the death of a two-year-old child.
34-year-old Jamie Bell was found guilty of 1st Degree Assault by a Phelps County jury on a change of venue from Texas County on October 12, 2011. Texas County Prosecutor Mike Anderson says that Bell was found guilty of injuring the child by shaking and throwing the child into a wall. According to court documents, a doctor told investigators that the child’s injuries indicated he had either been dropped from a height greater than 10 feet, was involved in a high velocity impact such as a car crash or had been shaken.
Bell was originally charged with Assault in 2006.
