(West Plains) – Two people were seriously injured Wednesday after a two-vehicle accident near the Junction Hill School.

The accident happened at 10:30 AM on Route 17, when the northbound vehicle driven by 47-year-old Carlisa Dykes of Mountain View crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle, driven by 56-year-old Jeffery Simmons of Peace Valley, head on.

Dykes was taken from the scene of the accident to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains by ambulance, while Simmons was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by Air Evac.
