(West Plains) – The Boys and Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area has announced the implementation of the “It’s 6pm. Dinner Served.” meal program.

Through the meal program any child ages 6-18 years old can eat dinner completely free of charge between 5:30-6:30 PM Monday through Friday. So far, the club has served over 6,000 meals.

The meal program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services by a CACFP grant. The Child and Adult Care Food Program assures that nutritious meals and snacks are served to children enrolled in child care centers, family child care homes, after school programs, emergency shelters, and adult day care programs by providing reimbursement for meals that meet nutritional standards.

Any questions about the program can be addressed by calling 417-204-CLUB, or email info@bgclubwp.com
