(Yellville) – A Mt. Pleasant man was found dead last week and authorities are still determining the cause of death.

Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence says in a press release issued late last week that county deputies and the Arkansas State Police were dispatched to a field off of Lafferty Road in the Mt. Pleasant area in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 11.

The body of 58-year-old Dale Strader of Mt. Pleasant was found by authorities. At this time, it is believed that Strader was leaving a residence nearby and fell to the ground, the fall possibly due to some ice and snow. The state medical examiner’s office report shows that there was no trauma to the body, and that Strader likely died from natural causes or from the extreme cold.

Authorities say a toxicology report is pending.
