(West Plains) – Tomorrow, animal clinics and hospitals in Howell County will be participating in the annual county-wide rabies vaccination clinic, which will offer area pet owners a chance to vaccinate their pet at a discounted price.

Justin Frazier, Environmental Services Supervisor with the Howell County Health Department, says that things will be a tad different this year:

With the effects of rabies well-known and the possible consequences of not vaccinating your pet, Frazier says that some people become complacent with putting their pets outside in pens. Frazier says that letting your pets outside quickly or leaving them in a pen won’t protect them from rabid animals:
