(Springfield) – Grocery shoppers have until Tuesday, December 31, to Check Out Hunger for Ozarks Food Harvest at nearly 80 participating stores.

The 15th annual Check Out Hunger campaign began November 15, in more than 50 communities to help feed the 170,000 people Ozarks Food Harvest serves annually through its member pantries and agencies.

Ozark Radio News spoke with Ozarks Food Harvest Director of Development and Communications Denise Gibson about how people can help out in the final days on the campaign:

Gibson added that even after the Check Out Hunger campaign ends there are still ways people can help:

Stores taking part in the campaign include Akin’s, Bistro Market, Country Mart, Dillons, Harter House, Hy‐Vee, Murfin’s Market, Price Cutter, Ramey, Smitty’s, Summer Fresh, Town & Country, and Woods Supermarket. Last year, the fundraiser was record‐breaking, collecting $35,000. This year’s goal is to raise $40,000.
