(Nashville, TN) – Surpassing the competition at the 32nd Annual Texaco Country Showdown South Missouri State Final, Nicole Knight proved worthy of the state title and $1,000. The Isle of Capri in Boonville showcased acts which had won a local contest sponsored by radio stations throughout the state enabling each to perform at the state level competition of America’s largest country music talent search.

Knight, representing radio station KCLQ of Lebanon, triumphed at the state level event. Other sponsoring radio stations were KKDY-FM West Plains, KWKZ-FM Cape Girardeau, KDKD-AM/FM Clinton, KNMO-FM Nevada, and KOEA-FM Poplar Bluff.

On October 12, Knight competed in the Midwest Regional Final at the Northern Lights Casino in Walker, MN to determine if she will advance to the National Final. Regional Winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Nashville to compete for $100,000 and the coveted title, “Best New Act in Country Music.”
