(Mountain Home) – A rural Baxter County man who is on parole was arrested Thursday afternoon on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation and after he reportedly fled from a deputy on foot.

29-year-old Matthew Tillery was arrested just before 2 PM Thursday after a deputy was dispatched to an address on State Highway 126 North of Gassville on a complaint that a woman wanted Tillery, who was wanted for a parole violation, removed from the residence.

The deputy arrived, and Tillery was placed under arrest. As Tillery began to get dressed, he reportedly fled out the back door of the residence on foot, with the deputy in pursuit. After approximately 50 yards, Tillery came to a fence, where he was tased by the deputy and taken into custody.

Tillery was charged with felony parole violation and misdemeanor fleeing from an officer. He is being held without bond on the parole violation, and he will appear in District Court on the misdemeanor fleeing charge on September 26,
