Taking Aim to Protect the Second Amendment
The focus of this week’s report is House Bill 436. This bill was vetoed by Gov. Nixon and is one I would like to see overridden. I have received many calls and emails voicing concern about this veto. House Bill 436 establishes the Second Amendment Preservation Act which rejects all federal acts that infringe on a Missouri citizen’s rights under the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. A George Washington quote reminds us of the importance of this Constitutional right, “Firearms are the teeth to the people’s liberty.” It is my aim in the state to strengthen and protect our right to bear arms.
