(West Plains) – The West Plains School District Early Childhood Special Education Center will be holding an official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening its doors for the 2013-2014 school year to 80 students in its new location at 205 Valley View Drive.

The grand opening event will take place on Thursday August 8 from 11:30AM -2PM and a tour of the classrooms and light refreshments will follow the ceremony.

This new location will allow the Early Childhood Special Education Center the overall increase in space they need to better serve the West Plains community.

Early Childhood Special Services are available to children of preschool age, 3-5; who are developmentally delayed and/or have a handicapping condition in the areas of cognitive, adaptive, speech/language, gross motor/fine motor or social/emotional/behavioral.

The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the leader in supporting best practices for the education of young children.
