(Houston) – A break in the water lines that occurred about 2 AM this morning near grand Avenue and Spruce Street in Houston has left the city under a boil water order.
City Administrator Larry Sutton says that when water pressure resumes, the water maybe murky and have air pressure, but this issue with eventually clear.
During a boil water order water for consumption or cleaning must be boiled first. The Wal-Mart Supercenter in Houston has jugged and bottled water on order and it should arrive this evening. Before an all clear from the order, the city must take water samples to send to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources before the boil water order is lifted and that may not occur until early next week.
Sutton shared that this morning’s break in the line is not the first this has happened. That two similar cases of this have occurred recently and that the break may have come from recent dry weather that may have caused a shift in the ground.
