(Willow Springs) – The Willow Springs City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday July 15 at 7 PM.

During the meeting Willow Springs School Superintendent Dr. Derrick Hutsell addressed the council with a request to make temporary use of a portion of the MoDOT facility for the districts preschool program. Hutsell shared that the school district was preparing to build a new preschool building and was in need of a temporary location until the construction for the new facility could be completed. An estimated time frame of 6 to 9 months was given for construction and the need for the MoDOT facility during that time frame.

Mayor Jay Waggoner requested that the staff work with Dr. Hutsell to prepare an agreement for the use of the MoDOT facility for a preschool classroom space to present an agreement at the next council meeting.
