(West Plains) – It was announced last week that Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains would be eliminating roughly 32 jobs and not filling about 13 other open positions.

Hospital president and CEO David Zechman says that, at this time, there is no plan to eliminate services offered by the hospital:

Zechman says the hospital was forced to cut jobs due to the Sequestration, along with an increase in chairity payments, bad debt from patients who can’t pay, and the lack of Medicaid expansion legislation from legislators in Jefferson City.
